Expertise

Research Specialist

I joined Wessex Archaeology in 2020 as a Pottery Specialist in the Research team. Before moving into commercial archaeology, I was a Finds Liaison Officer for the Portable Antiquities Scheme where I worked in Somerset, Essex, Lancashire and Yorkshire – pretty much all four corners of England!

I cover pottery of all periods, with a particular emphasis on the Prehistoric and Roman South, whereas my favourite metalwork comes from the Early Medieval (Saxon) and medieval periods. I also cover coins of all periods, and have recently completed work for Historic England with the University of Southampton, analysing high powered CT scans of fused coin lumps recovered from The London shipwreck.

When not working on finds for Wessex, I am on the editorial team for the Finds Research Group, helping bring finds research to publication and compiling the newsletters.
