Expertise

Research Specialist

I am an osteoarchaeologist based in Salisbury, previously a member of the fieldwork team.

I started working as a member of the field team with Wessex Archaeology after finishing my degrees in late 2015. The field gave me the opportunity to learn and excavate at some amazing sites across the south of England, from Neolithic to medieval in both rural and urban settings. In late 2017 I became a member of the research team as an osteoarchaeologist. My training in this position has allowed me to further my knowledge and skills in a subject which fascinated me since childhood. I am driven by a strong passion for human osteology and funerary archaeology, with a keen interest in the skeletal development of children, the treatment of individuals through important life stages (biological and cultural) and how we perceive sex and gender.

Outside of work I spend my time reading, sewing, gaming, or exploring the countryside with my partner and giant dog.
